Job Description

This role is also responsible for supporting Security application(s) patching, content creation as requested from all stakeholders, and development of process documentation:


  • Work with other Cybersecurity Engineering team members and will be required to interact with end users to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and aid with the creation of search queries and dashboards as required.

  • Will be required interact with senior management, as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot performance alerts

  • Assist in the testing of vendor patches for all security applications the Engineering team operational support.

  • Document and update the Engineering Team’s process and procedures.

  • Provide excellent customer service, as we will be required to interact/work with other teams to complete our daily tasks.

The Cyber Security team vigilantly protects Powder River Industries and client data. The team is responsible for a strategic cyber risk program which adapts to a rapidly changing threat landscape, changes in business strategies, risks, and vulnerabilities. Using situational awareness, threat intelligence, and building a security culture across the organization.




  • Active or Interim Top-Secret Clearance

  • Support patching on all assets, with a focus on Tanium

  • Apply vendor-supported patches (security and software) on a continuous and timely basis

  • Ensure that all workstation and server patches are completely deployed to all assets, to include laptops, desktop workstations, servers, tablets, etc.

  • Design, develop and build solutions to help clients reimagine reshape and rewire the competitive fabric of entire industries.

  • Work with a multitude of specialists, ranging from systems designers, architects and integrators, to creative digital experts, to cyber risk and human capital professionals on diverse projects from advanced preconfigured solutions and methodologies, to brand-building and campaign management.

  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience Vulnerability Patch Management DoD Information Assurance Certification IT Risk Management

  • Ability and willingness to acquire Top Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or relevant educational or professional experience.

  • Hands-on experience with at least two of the following technologies: Unix administration, Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Windows workstation, routers /switches management, firewall Management, SANS/NAS, Web servers, IAM/AAA, IDS/HDS, system vulnerability scanning tools, application/database vulnerability scanning tools, mobile device analysis or secure coding

  • Sound judgment skills and ability to manage escalations.

  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments with minimal instruction

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills


  • CISSP, CISA, CISM or like certification

  • Operational experience with Security application(s) such as: Splunk, SCCM, Cylance, Cisco Umbrella, RedLock, FireEye EX, Gigamon

  • Knowledge in scripting. Python and PowerShell

  • Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods
