Job Description

Individuals with experiences in the area of Cyber Security Engineer who are looking for an exciting and challenging career with Powder River Industries, LLC for future demand.


  • The successful candidate will use technical experience to quickly understand multiple networked computer environments and determine whether the appropriate level of security measures are in-effect based on applicable security best practices and/or governing policies and regulations.

  • Individual will have extensive collaboration with other members of the Mitigation and Assessment Team and technicians from several operational support groups.

  • Works with both research and operations staff to provide timely guidance and oversight to ensure that regulatory and compliance risks are adequately identified, communicated, and tracked for remediation.

  • Primarily responsible for conducting security compliance audits, Data Security Plans (DSPs), cybersecurity risk analysis, information security risk assessments and policy, process and procedure development in accordance with cognizant DoD standards and information security industry best practices.

  • Performs audits of classified and unclassified Information Systems (IS) to ensure compliance with applicable laws and government regulations.




  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or DoD FedRAMP process.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of multiple IS attack vectors.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cyber threat vector detection.

  • Hands-on experience in compliance auditing, and the conduct of security vulnerability assessments.

  • Advanced analytical skills and strong multitasking skills to effectively manage multiple activities, including cross-team dependent activities simultaneously.

  • Other corporate duties as assigned


Education, Certification and Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM major is desired and 5 years experience.

  • An active DoD 8140 IAT Level II cyber certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP).

  • Interim Top Secret security clearance



  • Active DoD 8140 cyber certification at IAT Level III (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH).
