About the Job
Powder River Industries is looking for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join our team and support our customers. The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications. Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage and network connectivity. Provides system administration for infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users.
Other Responsibilities will include:
Execute efforts supporting incremental software deliveries that could require reconfiguration and continuous restructuring / builds of the current infrastructure as new baselines are delivered. Selected candidates will initially be responsible for: GOTs/COTs SW installs, monitor system health, remedying problems, Security Hardening, perform updates and patching. Can be expected to work individually, participate actively on integrated teams, and support multiple tasks, projects and/or teams. Work as a team with several disciplines, and when required, take steps to resolve issues.
Applies security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment. Supports new infrastructure projects. Supports maintenance of configuration documentation for infrastructure.
Support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Linux IT systems. You will be responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures.
Must be a US Citizen
Active Secret Clearance at a minimum
Background in Linux administration, particularly RedHat
Current Security+ Certification
Good working knowledge of scripting languages (sh, bash, perl)
Experience with virtualization
Experience with Cisco routing
Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Red Hat Virtualization Suite
Red Hat Storage
Red Hat JBOSS Enterprise Application Platform
More About the Role: Support IT system infrastructure and any processes including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client problems.
5+ years of experience with designing, maintaining, administering, and troubleshooting Linux environments
3+ years of experience with networking protocols, system architectures, and implementation of network administration
Ability to troubleshoot and analyze Linux configurations to solve technical complex issues, offer alternative solutions, and make timely, logical decisions for problem resolution appropriately based on overall client need
